Steve Schafer is the Co-Founder of Recruit Pathways. After 21 years as a college basketball coach, he entered the recruiting service space in 2021 with a passion for helping prospects and their families navigate the ever-changing college recruiting landscape. His experience, insight, and extensive network of college coaching connections allow him to guide athletes through every step of the process with clarity and purpose.

In 2021, I transitioned into the recruiting service business with a clear purpose — to help student-athletes and their families navigate the often confusing and competitive college recruiting process. After spending 21 years as a college coach, I saw firsthand how many talented players missed opportunities simply because they lacked guidance or exposure. I wanted to change that. By combining my experience, network, and understanding of what college coaches truly look for, I’ve dedicated myself to educating and assisting prospects on their recruiting journeys — giving them the tools, insight, and support needed to reach the next level.

At Recruit Pathways, I am driven by a deep passion for crafting a comprehensive system that not only empowers student-athletes to take control of their recruiting journey but also provides college coaches with the tools they need to effectively identify and connect with the right players for their respective programs. Our core mission revolves around the creation of a recruiting platform that is characterized by enhanced transparency, efficiency, and ultimately, a more rewarding and beneficial experience for every individual involved, from the aspiring athletes to the dedicated coaches shaping the future of collegiate sports.
